Why is Ezra so important?

The book of Ezra provides a much-needed link in the historical record of the Israelite people. When their king was dethroned and captured and the people exiled to Babylon, Judah as an independent nation ceased to exist. The book of Ezra provides an account of the Jews’ regathering, of their struggle to survive and to rebuild what had been destroyed. Through his narrative, Ezra declared that they were still God’s people and that God had not forgotten them.

In the book of Ezra we witness the rebuilding of the new temple, the unification of the returning tribes as they shared common struggles and were challenged to work together. Later, after the original remnant had stopped work on the city walls and spiritual apathy ruled, Ezra arrived with another two thousand people and sparked a spiritual revival. By the end of the book, Israel had renewed its covenant with God and had begun acting in obedience to Him.

Ezra also contains one of the great intercessory prayers of the Bible (Ezra 9:5–15; see Daniel 9 and Nehemiah 9 for others). His leadership proved crucial to the Jews’ spiritual advancement.

Intercession draws on the power of heaven while we stand in the gap for others.

 
We grow in community as we spend time in prayers seeking the greatest good of others even when we do not know how to physically influence their current condition.

I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people— ² for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. ³ This is good, and pleasesGod our Savior, ⁴ who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth. ⁵ For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus, ⁶ who gave himself as a ransom for all people. This has now been witnessed to at the proper time.

What is the Call of God ?

Lately every seems to be called into the ministry. Do we undersand what that call is all about and the price to pay ?

What is the reward for the call ?

When does the call end and how do I know I am not doing the wrong thing ?

Does God really speak  ?

Is that not a man-thing and how do I know if and when God speaks ?

Too many people claim God speaks to them but I am not sure they are not mixing up their thoughts with some ideas they got somewhere ?

May you hear God when He speaks.

Authority is the power or right to give orders, make decisions, and enforce obedience.

Do we have any influence over situations and events that mould our lives here on earth ? 

If we only react to events, then we are as vulnerable as any other person without faith or believe in the power of God and delegated authority through His spirit.

So, what influence does a believer have and how can you and I enforce such authority ?

Believer is to accept the truth.

Faith is acting based on trust.

Knowing the truth is nothing compared to acting based on trust.

Have you wondered if God really speaks to people ? Hmmm .... that sounds creepy since we cannot see God, so how do we know the identity of who could be speaking to us ?
